Welcome to the Hedge End Based Performing Arts Company
The Performing Arts Company is very successful youth theatre company based in the village of Hedge End near Southampton.
The Performing Arts Company, was set up in Hedge End in 1992 for the benefit of the young people of the local area, to perform in the arts under constructive learning to performance level. In the last 20 years we have rehearsed and performed over 50 productions, from musicals and pantomimes to concerts.
We have rehearsed in Hedge End Youth and Community Centre twice a week over all that time, unfortunately we had nowhere to perform in Hedge End, so we had to put our shows on at The Eastpoint Centre, Southampton and The Point in Eastleigh.
Over the past few years we have performed our smaller shows at Hedge End Village Hall, and this year has seen the opening of The Berry Theatre in Hedge End, and with the committees support in moving from The Point we will be bring our larger shows from this amazing local venue, this means that all our talents can be bought to the local area for all our shows.
We have three performances throughout the year, advertised locally and on our site, and over the past 20 years we have trained and encouraged well over 200 young people in the arts, many have now gone out in to the big wide world with confidence to tackle life in a variety of jobs. We are now beginning to encourage the next generation of young people within the company to go into the future.
The cast are already mid flow through rehearsals preparing for the 20th Anniversary show West Side Story, which hits the stage early July.
We are always keen to welcome new members in all areas including cast, back stage, choreography, orchestra and production team., so get in touch on 01489 690140.
"Our vision is that amateur theatre is successful and sustainable, providing a range of opportunities for people to develop their skills and enjoy taking part, at all levels." N.O.D.A.
